More from eBay!

I couldn't resist this item: a British publication aimed at boys ("Boy's Cinemas" gives it away) that presents novelizations of action pictures.

This one features my favorite cowboy star Tom Tyler, the B-western star who had one of the most interesting careers in movies.

What is so amazing is that a western such as "Riding Through" is no great shakes and yet it's treated here as a major production worthly of some uncredited writer adapting the script into a novella.

The story is illustrated with stills from the film and I was interested to see that apparently this picture – independently made – was distributed by the British arm of Universal in the United Kingdom.

The weekly publication had several other novelizations as well as movie news.

My friend Richard Gordon, the last of a generation of indpendent filmmakers, told me he and his late brother Alex (also a notable indie producer) read "Boy's Cinema" regularly. And look what happened to them!

Nope, can't explain that one, and don't support the Great Satan on every issue.

Once again, Mikey, I can only assure you that your boy (potentially, I know you are still deciding) John Edwards wouldn't be any more brilliant, if he became president. Which he won't. Whoever wins is going to do incredibly stupid and baffling things. I'll bet money on that. I wish you and Bissette and etc etc could see that and get past the misery and the gloom and doom. You seem so unhappy.

Obviously, I commented in the wrong post...

But you catch my drift

Man, Tom Tyler and John Edwards have nothing to do with one another!

Beaut of a program and eBay acquisition, Mike. Thanks for sharing.

PS: Mark, I'm happy! I'm happy! It's just that Bush and his cronies suck shit so incredibly -- my personal life is by and large bliss, but what a sick country we live in!

Mark...I'm a happy guy, but you seem to confuse my questioning the administration with some sort of personal dispair. I'm not sure why, except that's one way of discounting what I think – oh Mike is just a gloomy guy that's why he thinks the war is unjust, etc. You know unhapply people just don't see the big picture.

As the teens say today, "whatever."

"We are so fucked" is your mantra, Mikey. Bissette is really more gloomy doomy than you, but you're getting pretty grim. Not in this post exactly (you know, the one I MEANT to comment on) but in general it's "We are so fucked this" and "We are so fucked that"

Then you discount me by saying I'm discounting you. And it's just my way of ignoring the horrible grim realities bla bla bla. And you see everything as a personal attack but these are DAISIES showering out of the end of my rifle, man, not bullets. Mellow out, dude. Don't take the brown acid!

Sorry to pick on Bissette so much. He's just an easy target, and the obvious third of our little "group". His gorge and his blood pressure rise unnecessarily and he thinks Democratic debates are an oasis of rational conversation. He is clearly not well. Aren't you worried for him? Shouldn't we go up there and check on him? Take him out for ice cream or something...

I haven't discounted you Mark...again, what the hell? You know the three of us ought to talk about all of this in person some time.

Well, I'm not discounting you! You're right. We should talk. It may already be too late!

OMG, now we gotta "schedule" with "HIM"!
